Chhattisgarh Tourism Showcases Diverse Travel Opportunities at Roadshow in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, in collaboration with FICCI as the Industry Partner, successfully organized the Chhattisgarh Tourism Roadshow at Mayfair Convention, Bhubaneswar, on Friday. The event brought together tourism stakeholders, travel trade representatives, hoteliers, tour operators, media professionals, and government officials to explore and promote the immense tourism potential of Chhattisgarh.

The roadshow highlighted Chhattisgarh’s unique tourism offerings, including its rich tribal heritage, ancient archaeological treasures, spiritual destinations, pristine waterfalls, dense forests, wildlife sanctuaries, vibrant art forms, and authentic cultural experiences. The initiative aimed to strengthen tourism ties between Odisha and Chhattisgarh while creating new business opportunities for travel and hospitality stakeholders.

The delegation from Chhattisgarh Tourism was led by Shri Neelu Sharma, Chairman, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board; Dr. S. Bharathi Dasan, IAS, Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Chhattisgarh; and Shri Vivek Acharya, IFS, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, along with senior government officials and leading tourism stakeholders from the state. Others present on the occasion included Shri Deepankar Mohapatra, IAS, Director, Department of Tourism, Govt of Odisha.

Smt Poonam Sharma delivered the welcome address, while Dr. J K Mohanty, Co-Chair, FICCI Tourism Committee, proposed a vote of thanks.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Neelu Sharma, Honble Chairman, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, invited local travel stakeholders- including tour operators, travel agents, and hoteliersto explore Chhattisgarh and direct their tourist groups there. Emphasizing that tourism growth requires collective effort rather than government action alone, the speaker called for strong inter-state cooperation with the Odisha government to boost regional tourism and strengthen bilateral ties through joint events.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. S. Bharathi Dasan, IAS, highlighted the state’s commitment to sustainable and experiential tourism. He emphasized that Chhattisgarh offers travelers an opportunity to discover untouched natural beauty, vibrant tribal traditions, spiritual destinations, and adventure tourism experiences that remain largely unexplored. The Chhattisgarh government is continuously promoting destinations through various media, participating in major tourism events, and establishing information centers in key cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Vadodara, and Bhopalwith plans underway to open a dedicated office in Odisha soon.

Shri Vivek Acharya, IFS, underscored the efforts being undertaken by the Tourism Board to improve infrastructure, enhance visitor experiences, and position Chhattisgarh as one of India’s most promising tourism destinations. He invited travel trade partners from Odisha to collaborate in promoting curated tourism circuits and experiences across the state.

The programme commenced with a cultural performance showcasing the rich traditions and heritage of Chhattisgarh, followed by a roadshow session featuring presentations on the state’s tourism attractions, investment opportunities, and emerging tourism products.

Earlier in the day, a B2B networking session facilitated interactions between tour operators from Odisha and tourism stakeholders from Chhattisgarh, paving the way for future partnerships and business collaborations.
The event concluded with an engaging networking dinner, providing participants an opportunity to further strengthen industry connections and explore collaborative opportunities for tourism promotion.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives from the travel and hospitality industry appreciated the initiative and expressed keen interest in promoting Chhattisgarh as a preferred destination for leisure, cultural, spiritual, and adventure tourism.
