Joda: Joda unit of Tata Steel’s Ore Mines and Quarries (OMQ) division celebrated 184th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata as Founder’s Day at JCO lawn on Friday.
Saroj Kumar Banerjee, Chief (Joda), Tata Steel paid floral tributes to JN Tata along with Heads and Chiefs of other units, employees, officials and union representatives.
Earlier in the morning, school students took part in Prabhat Pheri which started from Joda West campus and culminated at JCO office, and raised patriotic slogans on JN Tata to commemorate the day. They too paid homage to the industrialist and legendary figure. Later, sweets were distributed among the students.
On the occasion, fruit packets were also distributed among the patients of Tata Steel Hospital, Joda by the hospital officials.
To mark the day, various sporting events were organized at Vocational Training Centre Ground, Joda West for the employees of JCO and Khondbond Iron Mine. For employees of Joda East Iron Mine, similar sporting events were conducted at Haati Park, Joda East in the later half of the day. The winners of the competitions were felicitated by the dignitaries.
Based on this year’s theme- “Targetting Zero”, a quiz competition was also organised at Tata DAV Public school, Joda and winners were given away prizes.
Apart from this, illumination of Sir Dorabji Tata Botanical Park, Centenary Park, and Rainwater Harvesting Park were also done.
Besides, flower tributes to the visionary were also offered at Joda East Iron mine, Khondbond Iron mine and Manganese Group of Mines by the employees and officials.
It is worth mentioning Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata founded the Tata Group, India’s biggest conglomerate company.
