State Government has requested Union Minister Dr. Harshvardhan for procuring COVID-19 vaccines for the State

Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik said that State Government has requested Union Minister Dr. Harshvardhan for procuring COVID-19 vaccines for the State, at country-level, as the global vaccine manufacturers have asked for resolution of indemnity issues with Central Government only.
• Hon’ble Chief Minister said that no State Government has been able to procure vaccines through global bids as there are technical issues and approvals which are required from the Government of India. State Government has sought the procurement at Union Government-Level, cost of which will be borne by the state, he added.
• Hon’ble Chief Minister further said that Odisha Government reiterated its commitment to provide vaccines free of cost to people and is ready to bear the cost. However, it wants flexibility in distribution of vaccines considering local factors and plans to do away with online registration where there is poor connectivity, he added.
• Hon’ble Chief Minister again said that Odisha Government also like to complete priority vaccination of +2 students and their family members. Citing that vaccination has been a game changer in most countries, Odisha Government urged early action from Government of India to complete the vaccination on war footing before onset of possible 3rd wave.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister said that State Government has decided to set up another COVID-19 Hospital at Koraput with two oxygen plants and one oxygen plant at Nabarangpur. The Government’s move to save the lives of critically ill Covid patients with advanced health care will be proved significant, he added.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister said that Cuttack District Administration has launched ‘X-RAY on Wheels’ initiative to provide radiography services to ensure early detection of infection among COVID-19 patients at Covid Care Centers (CCCs) and for those at home isolation. Such an initiative will help in saving many precious lives, he added.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister said that Mission Shakti mothers are playing an important role in further strengthening the fight against Covid. 744 SHGs have contributed immensely by making18 Lakh masks in the Covid situation to protect the precious lives of the people, reducing the risk of infection.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister said that as many as 1,028 villages in Cuttack have managed to keep the virus at bay with the efforts made by sarpanchs, ward members, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, along with strict adherence to COVID norms, setting a precedent in Covid Management for others.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister on the occasion of Global Parents Day, said that parents are symbols of selfless love, commitment, lifelong sacrifice and biggest blessing for any child. He called upon to take a moment to show our gratitude towards the epitome of unconditional love and guiding light.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed grief over the demise of eminent scholar of musicology Dr. Sunil Satapathi. Mentioning that he will always be remembered for his contribution to Indian music and the tribal music of Odisha, Hon’ble Chief Minister condoled the bereaved family members and wished the soul a peaceful rest.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed concern over the hospitalization of eminent poet Shri Jayant Mohapatra being infected in Covid. Hon’ble Chief Minister wished him a speedy recovery and good health.

 Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed grief over the demise of eminent football coach Nand Kishore Patnaik. Mentioning that his contribution to the creation of world-class football players from Odisha is always memorable, Hon’ble Chief Minister condoled the bereaved family members and wished the soul a peaceful rest.
