The Khallikot area of Ganjam district is in turmoil. Two Crimescene incidents took place this evening. Jitendra Barik, a young man, was shot in Manikpur village within two hours of a bomb blast that killed one person. The bullet struck in Jitendra’s abdomen. Serious Jitendra has been shifted to the Berhampur General Hospital. The cause of the shooting is unknown. Jitendra had an outing. All arrangements have been made for Jitendra’s wedding at the Rahanei temple in Kahneipur. Firing tonight has caused a stir in the local area.
According to sources, Jitendra’s house is in Valijhar village in Beguniapara block. Jitendra is going to marry his uncle’s daughter in Chachina village Jitendra came to his aunt’s house in Manikpur as there was unrest in the family. At around 9.30pm , his aunt’s house at Manibpur Baribandha Sahi was standing on the porch of the house and talking on her mobile phone facing the house near the gate. At this point someone from the back shot him. The bullet struck him in the back of the abdomen. Seriously, he fell to the ground. His relatives rushed Jitendra to the Khallikot health center in critical condition. There, he was shifted to the Berhampur General Hospital after receiving first aid. Police speculate that the shooting may have been centered on family unrest and property dispute.
