Tata Steel Kalinganagar celebrates 184th Founder’s Day

Kalinganagar: Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) celebrated Founder’s Day on Friday marking the 184th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata at its Kalinganagar Plant in Jajpur district of Odisha.

The day started with a 5 km run organised by Engineering & Projects team for the employees of vendor partners. More than 300 employees of various vendor partners participated in the run that started near Green Transport Logistic Park, TSK. It was followed by a march past by employees which started from Project Office and culminated at TSK Centre where senior leadership of Tata Steel Kalinganagar along with other employees paid floral tributes to J N Tata.

Later in the day, the final match of inter-colony football tournament was organised for Tata Parivar at Gobarghati Phase II playground. A friendly football match between Tata Steel and Tata Parivar was also organised on the occasion. Apart from this, several other sporting events were organised for the members of Tata Parivar at Gobarghati and family members of employees at the Company’s housing colony.

Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata (March 3, 1839 – May 19, 1904), the founder of the Tata Group, is considered ‘Father of Indian Industry’. His vision inspired the steel and power industry in India, set the foundation for technical education, and helped the country leapfrog to the ranks of industrialised nations.
