Two buses parked at the new bus stand were set on fire

 

Rourkela: Two domestic passenger buses parked at the new bus stand were set on fire. About 70% of the two buses were burned before firefighters arrived to control  the blaze. two buses caught fire and local shopkeepers informed the fire department. Fire causes are un known .Since there is no CCTV in the area .

Plantsite policemen are investigating the incident based on the statements of the bus stand shopkeepers and the bus drivers standing next to him. Due to the lack of permits and insurance, two buses, ‘Abhishek’ (OR4 14P-3633) and Highway Travel’ (OR4 14X-437), have been standing at the new bus stand for the past six months.

Abhishek bus was traveling from Rourkela through Birmitrapur to Jareikela, the highway bus was going from Rourkela to Rajgangpur. The bus owners have applieed at Regional Transport Office for permit renewal.

Firefighters arrived and controled the blaze. PlantCity4 police, Scientific team arrived and investigated the incident, with Abhishek bus owner Sanjay having lodged a written complaint in police station .

CCTV has been set up by the district administration in crowded places like the new bus stand. But the CCTVs installed in most places are out of order. There has been dissatisfaction among shopkeepers and bus passengers as CCTVs have not been installed in the Fakirmohan market side area.
