The state government will provide free corona vaccines to every citizen between the ages of 18 and 45. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made the announcement yesterday. It will benefit two crore people in the state. The state government will spend about Rs 2,000 crore on this. “The situation this year has been dire since last year,” Mr Patnaik said. He encouraged ordinary people as well to take part in solving this great task: “One of the things you and other people can do to obey all covid restrictions

. “Every life is precious,” he said. That is why the government is strengthening the oxygen, medicine and ambulance services, starting with beds.

Meanwhile, the state government has allocated the required amount of vaccines to the state. From May 1, people between the ages of 18 and 45 will be vaccinated free of charge. Health and Family Welfare Secretary Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra has written separate letters to Covasheild and Covaxin producing companies to send vaccine to the state. The government has decided to vaccinate people in all parts of the state
