Union Home Minister Amit Shah said no one can scrap Article 371

Itanagar — Union Home Minister Amit Shah said no one can scrap Article 371 nor will be. Speaking at the 34th Statehood Day celebration in Itanagar yesterday, Mr. Shah said that in August 2019 when the Article 370 was scrapped there was a rumour that 371 will also be removed. He said that the efforts of those who want to create difference between India and Northeast by spreading lies will never be successful. He said India is not complete without the vibrant culture of Northeast.

Mr. Shah said to preserve and protect the culture and tradition of the people of Arunachal Pradesh is not only the responsibility but also the duty of the government, which it will never fail to do. He said that Narendra Modi is the only Prime Minister who has visited the Northeastern region 30 times in his 5-year term. He said Prime Minister Modi wishes to make the whole Northeast a problem free region. He said before 2014 NE was geographically and administratively connected to India but after Mr. Modi came to power NE has been connected with the heart of India.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Pema Khandu thanked the centre for exempting Arunachal Pradesh from the purview of Citizenship Amendment Act and also reiterated his demand for a separate IAS/IPS cadre for Arunachal Pradesh.
