The power supply will continue, even if there is no payment of Bill

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Energy is taking all necessary steps to provide electricity to all its consumers during the nationwide lockdown in view of the corona infection,

 

Union Energy Minister Rajkumar Singh has said. 80 percent of the country’s electricity is in the thermal category. In his view, the ministry has been in touch with the Ministry of Railways and the Coal Ministry to ensure the uninterrupted transportation of coal to thermal power plants.

Similarly, the Union Power Minister has directed the power generation and supply companies to continue supplying electricity even though theirBull have not been paid. The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has been instructed to extend the three-month deadline. A similar directive has been issued to the State Electricity Regulatory Commission and the state governments.
