NEW DELHI: WhatsApp filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday challenging the Central government’s new “digital policy ” to be implemented today. “This policy will force users to violate the privacy of users because of these rules,” As said by WhatsApp official.

Under the new policy enacted by the government, Facebook owned  WhatsApp  messaging service ” has to find the source or source of the message.

WhatsApp, which has about 400 million users in India, said in a statement that the call to identify the source of the chat was to keep a record of every message sent to WhatsApp. This would violate the “right to privacy” of the people.

A spokesman for WhatsApp said, “We have consulted with civil society and experts around the world regarding the violation of the right to privacy.” We have also held talks with the Government of India.

WhatsApp has filrd a petion in Delhi high court . Wahts app said that ‘New Digital policy’ violates the ‘right to privacy’ given to the people in the Indian Constitution.
